Climate Action Hero Awards

Celebrating local activists, scientists, and innovators, the event promises an evening of inspiration and empowerment in the fight against environmental challenges.

The Climate Action Museum will host its annual Climate Action Hero Awards on Earth Day, April 22, from 5 to 8 p.m. at The Library & Stack in downtown Chicago. This powerful evening honors local activists, scientists, policymakers and innovators leading the charge against climate change with real-world solutions. As rising energy costs, extreme weather and shifting ecosystems continue to impact daily life, the awards spotlight those making bold, lasting contributions to sustainability—and invite attendees to get involved. Co-founded by renowned architect Doug Farr and green real estate leader Linda Sanchez, the Climate Action Museum is more than a museum—it’s a hands-on hub for climate education, advocacy and community-driven change. The annual Climate Action Hero Awards is the museum’s signature Earth Day event, previously honoring leaders like legendary meteorologist Tom Skilling. This year’s honorees promise to inspire with their commitment to environmental justice, innovation and resilience. The event also supports the museum’s educational programs, helping more Chicagoans take informed action for the planet.

Event Location: 190 S. LaSalle St., Chicago. The Climate Action Museum is located at 300 S. Riverside Plaza, in Chicago. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit ClimateActionMuseum.org/climate-hero-awards-2025.
